In our effort to make our hair look beautiful, we don’t realize how much we are hurting and harming them. Heat styling devices such as a flatiron, hot rollers and even blow dryers can cause damage to the hair, making it dry, brittle and unhealthy looking. Other causes of hair damage are frequent chemical treatments such as hair color, hair straightening treatment, and more. Even the wrong type of hairbrush can damage your hair.
If you have damaged hair – dry, brittle, with split ends, you need not spend so much in products and treatments to have it remedied. There are natural home remedies that you can do at home using things that we ordinarily have at home already. Here are some tips to treat damaged hair at home:

Mayonnaise treatment
Before bed time, apply mayonnaise to the hair. Keep the hair covered with a plastic shower cap or anything that will prevent it from staining the pillow. In the morning, wash your hair in the usual way.
Egg and honey treatment
Mix eggs and honey and apply it to your newly washed hair with warm water. Leave the mixture on your hair for about ten minutes before washing it off.
Homemade moisturizer
Other than mayonnaise and avocado, coconut suntan oil or any cooking oil are great for giving hair a deep conditioning. Wash the hair in warm water first and get rid of excess water before applying the oil to the hair. This is best done at night before bedtime. Apply a generous amount of oil from the palm of your hand and work it gently to your hair while massaging the scalp. Wrap the hair in a plastic shower cap before you retire for the night so that your pillow won’t get stained. In the morning, wash the hair with a mild shampoo to get rid of the grease.
