STRAIGHTEN HAIR WITH A FLAT IRON

If you can remember the first time you straightened your own hair with a flat iron, you may recall that it didn’t go to well. Learning how to use a flat iron effectively takes practice and technique. Therefore, you will have to experiment a few times before you get your desired results from whatever type of flat iron you happen to be using. The following steps will guide you through straightening your hair effectively.

1. Wash, shampoo, and condition hair thoroughly.

2. Pick out your hair, throw in some product which will protect your hair against heat damage, and blow your hair dry while running your fingers through your hair.

3. Wait a few minutes before heating up your flat iron. Separate you hair into sections (depending on how thick/long your hair is) and straighten it piece by piece. You will want to do this with each individual layer of hair in order to ensure that you don’t leave any kinks behind.

4. Lastly, you can add in some extra hair products which will increase shine and reduce frizz. If you have a specific straight style in mind, you may want to apply some gels or pomades to guide your hair in a specific direction. These products will help hold the style that you want. After you have applied all necessary hair products, feel free to coat on a bit of hairspray. This will give you a big of extra hold (just in case you find yourself coasting down the street in a convertible!)
