SUMMER 2010 HAIRSTYLES TRENDS

With the short pixie cut we have been looking at a lot of jaw lines and cheeks in 2009. For 2010, the eyes have it. 2010 sees the pixie cut growing wispy tresses on top and along the sides to tone down the roundness and give an interesting messy look to the face, of course with the focus on the eyes. Tousled locks and subdued oval shapes are in for all lengths whether they be short, medium or shoulder brush. Choppy layering is a must to draw attention from the borders of the face towards the eyes in the upper center.

The Bob hair makes a surprising comeback. Short bobs with very short sides, possibly shaved, are in. Top should be medium length, combed diagonally forward in an angled partial bang over the forehead. Chin length bobs (to conceal the prominent jaw), also with angled long partial bangs, need to be layered on the sides to achieve the tousled texture and draw attention from the jaw line. Shoulder length hair, definitely needs to be choppy and provide some tangle around the prominent jaw and chin. For narrow foreheads, hair at the temples may be held in place by hair clips. Bangs are very appropriate.

Wavy and angled hair is definitely in. Parting of the hair is recommended to be done off center but not too far from center. It may also be done at the exact center of the forehead depending on the shape of the face.

The hair at the sides have to be set and gently combed to fall downwards and backwards at a 45 degree ( or less) angle. This serves to emphasize the region of the eyes.
